How to Pwn: Diremite Web

I noticed a there were some crazy prices for Diremite Web on Behemoth, and peeking at the official forums, it sounds like it’s the same everywhere. Unfortunately this stuff is needed for leveling up weaving. It’s used to make Dew Thread which is a core ingredient in all of the Velveteen crafts.

Well, for those players industrious enough to go out and farm their own, here’s how!

There are several Levequest that reward diremite web x4. Considering the banemites are so popular to farm now, I was wondering it is worth my time to use allowances on levequest for webs or if fighting for tags is still more efficient? (I read best way to use allowances is for grand company leves, but I have no problem getting seals from F.a.t.e’s)

And if anyone knows the level ranges of the levequests? I heard “Don’t Sash Me” and “Hitting below the Belt” (both ul’dah) reward the webs, but I do not see them with 5 thru 25 levels unlocked.

I’ve seen some with x4 Web from Ul’dah, for a weaver quest. I think in the end I used more than 4 web for the item I needed to complete it though. The xp bonus you get from them though helps you push through the level range of DIremite Web, so it’s helpful in that way, since if you require less it’s similar to gaining more.

Unfortunately I don’t think it’s going to net you positive Diremite Web in general. 4 web is going to make you two Undyed Velveteen, and most recipes will require 2 and a thread (6 web total). It’s a rough period for sure. Also, after testing out more I think my experiences with the level 25s were just uncommon. I’ve since gone over and farmed them with similar results to the 27s, also you can kill a group of 4 over there, so if you have AoE it’s pretty nice.

Unlocked the Levequest in Ul’dah finally. Quest giver is Eustace in The Quicksand (Adventure’s Guild). To unlock these you need to go do the initial Levequest in Camp Drybone at lv 20, it will cost you one allowance to unlock.

        Don’t Sash Me
        Required: 1 Cotton Sash
Materials: 3 Cotton Cloth and 1 Cotton Yarn
        Total Yarns: 7 Cotton Yarn

        Hitting Below the Belt
Required: 3 Cotton breeches of crafting
Materials: 2 Cotton Cloth, 1 Cotton Yarn, 1 Leather
Total Yarns: 15 Cotton Yarn (plus more crystals and the leather)

Both reward 4 Diremite Webs. Ironically Don’t Sash me rewards slightly more gil and exp while costing a half the materials of Hitting Below the Belt.

IF anyone was to consider leve’n these instead of killing the Banemites, definitely do ‘Don’t Sash Me.’ I have been heavily advised to save my allowances for reaching cap levels of crafting OR to only spend them to keep from hitting the maximum allowance cap of 100.

I would also heavily suggest reading an in-depth guide on on how you earn experience points while crafting. Learning to maximize my experience per production greatly reduced the number of items I need to make to get out of the dew thread and velveteen zone.

Additional note: does not always reward diremite webs. Sometimes rewards wind shards. I do not have data on chance of this.
